After a brief discussion of the ethics of placing the phrase ה' ינקום דמו (God avenge his blood) at the end of the name of a deceased when זכרונו לברכה (May his memory be a blessing) for victims of terror attacks in Israel, I decided to look up historical uses of the phrase.
